Holy Cross

The first for dreams

Our Governing Body

The Governing Body's main aim, is to help raise standards of achievement and make sure the school provides a good quality education.
The day-to-day management of the school is the responsibility of the Headteacher and staff. Rather than manage,  governors are there to help shape the school's future direction and focus.

Specific duties of the Governing Body include: appointing the Headteacher; setting the school budget; ensuring that a broad and balanced curriculum is delivered; monitoring how well the school is doing, and how well policies and plans are being implemented; monitoring health and safety, and the management of the school building and grounds.
Please read the Scheme of Delegation here.

Our Meetings
The Full Governing Body (FGB) of Holy Cross Church of England Primary School, meets on a monthly basis, with a specific focus relating to either Teacher & Learning (T&L) or to Resources & Premises (R&P) for each meeting. These meetings are clerked and minuted with agreed actions attached.

Panels and Working Groups meet when required and notes are taken by an appointed member.  These are circulated to all Governors for the following FGB.  When actions have been identified, then appropriate Link Governors are called upon to complete those actions and to report back to the FGB.
