Here are a few ways to help your child learn at home and consolidate their learning from school.

  • Read regularly with your child (daily would be fantastic) and support their comprehension skills by asking them questions.
  • Be aware of the 'Common Exception Words'. Children should be able to read and write these by the end of the year. These are tricky words and will need to be practised.

  • Understand 'Cursive Handwriting' and let your child  practise joining their letters.
  • Build 'Maths at Home' into your daily activities.
  • Most importantly - Have fun with learning at home!
